Vouchers in Campaign Agent
Campaign Agent can add vouchers (discount codes) to the email campaigns it builds. Describe the voucher you want in plain language and the agent uses your project's existing voucher setup — reflected in the campaign brief before anything is built. This includes unique, per-customer codes drawn from a voucher pool, codes already assigned to customers, and single shared codes.
Campaign Agent uses the vouchers that already exist in your project. It never creates pools or generates new codes, and it never invents a code—if the voucher you ask for isn't configured, the agent tells you.
Before you start
Vouchers work with your existing Engagement voucher setup:
-
Voucher pools imported in Data & Assets > Vouchers, for unique per-customer codes.
-
Voucher customer attributes (for example
Welcome_10) that your project already populates, for codes assigned per customer.
If your project has neither, you can still include a shared code you supply in the prompt.
Voucher types
-
Unique codes from a pool: The agent draws a unique code per recipient from one of your voucher pools, so each customer gets their own code.
-
Existing voucher attribute: The agent references a voucher already assigned to each customer (for example a
Welcome_10attribute) and reads the code from the customer's profile. -
Shared code: A single code you supply (for example
WELCOME10) that is the same for every recipient.
How Campaign Agent detects your intent
You don't need to name the exact pool or attribute. The agent recognizes your voucher request and uses a real voucher from your project:
-
"Send a summer sale email with a unique code for each customer from our SUMMER2026 pool." → unique codes from a pool
-
"Send a welcome email with our Welcome_10 voucher." → existing voucher attribute
-
"Send a reminder email with the code WELCOME10." → shared code
You can also ask the agent what vouchers are available—it lists all available voucher pools in the conversation. If more than one voucher source could match, the agent asks you to choose, either as a conversational question or a list of options.
If you mention a discount in your prompt—for example, "send a 20% off email"—without explicitly asking for a voucher, the agent may add one itself or ask you to confirm, depending on context.
The agent only adds a voucher when you ask for one or when it infers one from your prompt.
What the brief shows you
The voucher is described in the Additional context section of the brief— which pool or attribute the agent will use, and whether the code is unique per customer or shared. You can confirm what recipients will get before anything is built.
Keeping the same code across follow-ups
When the agent draws unique codes from a pool, _it adds a node to the campaign scenario that saves each customer's assigned code. This means a follow-up email in the same campaign reuses the customer's existing code instead of drawing a new one.
This is the default behavior. To turn it off and use a fresh code on each send, tell the agent conversationally—for example, "don't save the code, use a new one each time."
For the existing-voucher-attribute path, the code already lives on the customer's profile, so no extra step is needed.
Previewing voucher codes
In the preview, the agent shows a representative real code so you can see what the email will look like. Preview codes are marked as preview only and aren't assigned to a customer—previewing doesn't use up a code from your pool.
When no voucher is configured
If you ask for a voucher but your project has no matching pool or attribute, the agent won't guess or make up a code. Instead it tells you nothing is configured and offers alternatives:
-
Include a shared code you supply in the prompt.
-
Set up a pool or attribute in Engagement and ask again.
-
Continue without a voucher.
Redemption tracking
Redemption tracking works through your existing Engagement configuration—Project settings > Mapping > Vouchers. Marketing Agent doesn't change how redemptions are recorded.
Personalization still applies
A voucher is a personalization element. It works alongside the rest of Marketing Agent's personalization—the code sits in the email content next to other personalized details like the customer's first name.
Good to know
-
Vouchers apply to the email channel.
-
The agent uses existing vouchers only—it doesn't create pools or generate new codes.
-
If a pool runs out of codes, see the Vouchers documentation for how Engagement handles pool depletion.
-
The agent doesn't estimate voucher cost or discount impact in the brief.
