LINE campaigns

LINE is a messaging app widely used in Japan, Taiwan, and Thailand. Brands reach customers via LINE Official Accounts—users follow these accounts (using the Add a friend feature) to receive messages.

Prerequisites

LINE messaging requires the Mobile Messaging package.

Connect a LINE Official Account, configure your project settings, and add at least one sender before you send your first message.

Manage LINE contacts
When a user follows your LINE Official Account, their LINE ID is saved to their customer profile. Follow status is recorded as opt-in; opt-outs come in via webhook. You can only send messages to users who have opted in.

Bloomreach doesn’t provide automatic initial import of existing followers, so you have to import these customer profiles manually.

Pricing

LINE messaging is billed per message, subject to the specific pricing terms outlined in your Bloomreach contract. Pricing is based on the sender country you configure for each LINE sender. See your overall LINE consumption in Usage Dashboards.

Note

Customer profiles containing LINE ID are counted towards billable profiles, subject to the applicable terms of your agreement with Bloomreach.

Compliance

LINE works in Japan, Taiwan, and Thailand. You can only message users who follow your LINE Official Account. While this mechanism helps facilitate the collection of user opt-ins, you remain solely responsible for ensuring that valid legal consent is in place before any message is sent and that your messaging complies with all applicable laws and regulations.

Bloomreach automatically processes opt-in (Add a Friend) and opt-out (Block) signals. We also provide an option to create a new customer profile from the opt-in event if such a customer doesn’t exist in the project yet. For more information, see LINE onboarding.

Delivery statuses

Due to limitations of LINE messaging platform the delivery status handling is limited to Enqueued or Failed. There are no Delivered or Read statuses or any similar equivalent.

To track URL clicks, use the link shortener. This generates campaign click events for links in the message body and URL buttons.
