This article walks you through the steps to create a new project using a template.

What are Project structure templates

Project structure templates let you reuse existing data structures or start from a predefined setup when creating a new project. This reduces manual configuration time and minimizes the risk of errors.

How to create new project with template

  1. Go to your account settings and initiate a new project.

  2. Choose your project type from the following options:

    1. Blank project: Start with an empty data structure and build from scratch.

    2. Predefined template: Start with a curated data structure template provided by Bloomreach.

    3. Data structure from existing project: Clone the data structure from an existing project in the same account.

      Choose a blank project, a predefined template, or an existing project's data structure when setting up a new project.

  3. Select a template or project. If you chose either Predefined template or Data structure from existing project, select the specific template or project you want to use.

    Select a template or existing project from the same account to base your new project structure on.

  4. Preview and configure IDs. On the next screen, hard and soft IDs are pre-configured automatically. You can preview how the data structure will appear in the new project before confirming. You also have the option to copy only the project IDs. To do this, deselect the switches next to Customer properties & events and Mapping.

    Preview the data structure and deselect Customer Properties, Events, or Mapping if you only want to copy the project IDs.

  5. Create your project. Click Create project to finish.

Note

When creating a new project, any catalog mapped in data mapping will not be copied over automatically. You need to manually create a catalog and configure the data mapping for the new project. Review the full guidance on data mapping.

Limitations

Keep the following constraints in mind when using project structure templates:

  • Configuration is limited to customer properties, event attributes, and data mapping.
  • Predefined templates can't be edited.
  • Project usage is restricted to the same account.
  • Expiration settings aren't included in the configuration.
