Set up external deliverability data integrations

Connect Google Postmaster Tools, Microsoft SNDS, or both to bring external sender reputation and inbox-placement data into the email deliverability dashboard.

For guidance on what to look for once connected, see Monitor email deliverability dashboard.

Prerequisites

  • Email channel enabled on the project
  • Analyses Viewer role
  • Permission to manage project integrations

Connect Google Postmaster Tools

Verify your sending domains

Before connecting, verify your sending domains in Google Postmaster Tools. You only need to do this once per organization.

  1. Open Google Postmaster Tools and log in using your Google account.
  2. Add your main sending domain first—for example, your-brand.com. Verifying this domain means you won't need a separate verification step for each subdomain.
  3. Copy the TXT record Google generates and add it to your domain's DNS settings, or share it with your IT team to add. Google's domain verification guide covers the steps for different DNS providers.
  4. Once the TXT record is live, return to Google Postmaster Tools and click Verify.
  5. Add any sending subdomains you use—for example, mail.your-brand.com. They're verified automatically once the main domain is verified.
📘

Note

If a subdomain doesn't appear in the dropdown later, add it in Google Postmaster Tools. It'll show up in the dashboard at the next data sync.

Add the integration

  1. Go to Data & Assets > Integrations > Add integration.
  2. Select Google Postmaster Tools.
Available integrations page with Google Postmaster Tools search result and Add integration button highlighted.
  1. Click Connect with Google and sign in with the Google account that manages your Google Postmaster Tools profile.
  2. Select the domains you want to monitor.
  3. Click Save.

Data doesn't appear right away—it fills in at the next scheduled sync.

  • Sync window: 02:00–06:00 UTC. Google typically publishes data 1–3 hours after midnight UTC.
  • Historical data: Up to 120 days available when you first connect.
  • Project limit: 50 domains and IPs combined, shared across all external data integrations.

You can update your selected domains at any time. To use a different Google account, create a new integration—you can't update the account on an existing one. If the same domain appears in more than one Postmaster integration, it only shows once in the dashboard.

Reconnect after your access expires

If the connection to Google expires—for example, because the account owner removed access—only the external deliverability data section stops updating. Email sending isn't affected.

To reconnect:

  1. Go to Data & Assets > Integrations, open the Google Postmaster Tools integration, and click Disconnect.
  2. Follow the steps in Add the integration.

Connect Microsoft SNDS

Label your sending IPs

Label your sending IPs before connecting. Labels appear in charts, filters, and tables throughout the dashboard—without them, the data is much harder to read.

  1. Go to Project settings > Channels > Emails > IP address labeling.
  2. Enter a short label for each IP—for example, Transactional, Marketing, or Newsletter.
  3. Click Save.

Labels apply across all SNDS integrations and update all charts and historical views immediately. One label can cover multiple IPs, and the same IP can appear in more than one integration without conflict.

📘

Note

If you're not sure which IP addresses you use for sending, work with your CSM or consultant before proceeding.

Before you connect

If your email provider is one of the following, contact your CSM instead of following the steps below. Your CSM will coordinate access approval with the provider directly.

  • Brevo
  • EmailLabs
  • Mailjet
  • Mailgun

Otherwise, make sure you have the following before you begin:

  • Dedicated IPs used for your email sending. Shared IPs aren't supported by SNDS. Only dedicated IPs can be registered.

  • Your IPs registered with Microsoft. Log in to Microsoft SNDS to check. If you can already see your IPs there, skip to getting your access key and time zone below. If your IPs aren't registered yet, contact your CSM first—they'll coordinate approval with your email provider. Once the provider is aware of your request, submit your IPs at Microsoft's SNDS access request page. Use an email address you check regularly—Microsoft sends updates there.

  • An access key. In your SNDS account, open View or change your automated access settings and generate a key.

  • Your SNDS time zone. Find this in your SNDS account settings—for example, America/Los_Angeles. You'll need to enter it exactly as shown.

📘

Note

Microsoft only shows data for IPs that send at least 100 emails per day to Hotmail or Outlook addresses. IPs below that volume won't appear. Contact Bloomreach Support if your IPs are above that threshold but still missing.

Add the integration

  1. Go to Data & Assets > Integrations > Add integration.

  2. Select Microsoft SNDS.

  3. Fill in the following:

    • Access key: Paste from your SNDS account.
    • Time zone: The exact time zone shown in your SNDS account settings.
    • IP addresses: Select the IPs you want to monitor.
Microsoft SNDS integration in Bloomreach showing the connected access key, IP addresses, and time zone fields.

The time zone you enter is validated against your Microsoft SNDS profile before saving. If it doesn't match the time zone in your SNDS Edit Profile section, the integration won't save and you'll see an inline error. Correct the time zone and try again.

Microsoft SNDS

  1. Click Save.

Data appears at the next scheduled sync—not immediately.

  • Sync window: 02:00–06:00 UTC.
  • Historical data: Up to 90 days available when you first connect.
  • Project limit: 50 domains and IPs combined, shared with Google Postmaster Tools.

If the same IP address appears in more than one SNDS integration, it appears only once in the dashboard.

🚧

Important

If you ever change the time zone in your SNDS account, you'll need to recreate the integration in Bloomreach with a new access key and the updated time zone.

Reconnect after your access expires

If the access key stops working—usually because the SNDS time zone changed—email sending isn't affected. Only the external deliverability data section stops updating.

Go to Data & Assets > Integrations, disconnect the integration, and set it up again with a fresh key and the correct time zone.

Data history and retention

SourceHistory at first connectKept while connected
Google Postmaster ToolsUp to 120 daysUp to 13 months
Microsoft SNDSUp to 90 daysUp to 13 months

If you disconnect an integration, data already collected stays in the dashboard for up to 13 months. Reconnecting restores the full available history.

Troubleshooting

Connection expired

Email sending continues normally. Disconnect the integration and reconnect following the steps above.

A sending subdomain doesn't appear in the dropdown

Add it in Google Postmaster Tools first, then reopen the integration to pick it from the refreshed list.

Microsoft SNDS won't save — time zone error

Copy the exact time zone from your SNDS account settings and try again. Don't change the time zone in SNDS to make it match—that invalidates your access key.

Microsoft SNDS panels are empty

Your IPs may send fewer than 100 emails per day to Hotmail or Outlook addresses, they may not yet be accepted by Microsoft, or the date range you selected is older than 90 days.

No data after saving the integration

The sync runs between 02:00 and 06:00 UTC—not in real time. Check back after the next sync window.

Summary cards show N/A

The date range you selected is only partially covered by available data—common right after connecting a new integration. Scroll down to the chart to see which days have data, then narrow the date range to a fully covered window.

An integration section is blank or shows a notification

If an integration is disconnected or has an expired credential, that section shows an inline message with a link to fix it. The other integration section continues to work normally.

Dashboard is slow to load

Contact Bloomreach Support with your project ID and the integration name.

Best practices

  • Use a separate subdomain for each type of email. For example, keep transactional and marketing sends on different subdomains. This makes it easier to spot delivery issues by stream.
  • Label your IPs before connecting SNDS. It takes a few minutes and saves a lot of time reading charts later.
  • Don't change your SNDS time zone without a plan. It breaks the connection and requires you to set up the integration from scratch.
  • Add a campaign identifier to your email headers. This is the only way to see campaign-level data in the feedback loop panel.
