Campaign Agent limitations
Campaign Agent automates campaign creation and optimization, but has specific boundaries around what it can build, edit, and optimize.
Campaign creation
Email only
Campaign Agent currently supports email campaigns only. Other channels, like SMS and push notifications, aren't yet available.
Segment creation
Campaign Agent creates segments exclusively for each campaign and doesn't reuse existing segments in your Bloomreach project. Each campaign generates fresh segment definitions that remain internal to Campaign Agent and can't be accessed outside the campaign context.
Out-of-scope requests
Campaign Agent identifies requests it can't fulfill — such as price-drop campaigns or unsupported channels — and tells you they're out of scope, rather than attempting to build them. This applies during the pre-building stage, before a campaign brief is generated.
When a request is out of scope, Campaign Agent proposes an alternative next action and asks for any missing campaign details to keep things moving. If your request is better handled elsewhere in Bloomreach, Campaign Agent redirects you there instead.
Non-standard scenarios
Campaign Agent handles a wide range of campaign briefs, including complex and non-standard scenarios. However, it doesn't know your company's internal business rules unless you explicitly state them. For anything that deviates from standard practice, include it in your prompt.
For example:
- If your brand uses unconventional or experimental strategies, describe them explicitly.
- If you never offer more than a 20% discount, state that constraint.
- If you avoid sending emails on weekends, include that in your campaign context.
Edit campaigns
Manual editing constraints
Manual editing lets you change settings like audience filters, delays, and control group percentage. To change the campaign structure — for example, add or remove nodes, reorder steps, or add new branches — use conversational editing instead.
Content editing constraints
You can request most content changes conversationally, but some editing actions aren't supported:
- Images and invisible parameters: You can't change image URLs, alt text, or CTA URLs conversationally. Make those changes manually in the editor.
- Email settings: You can't change email settings, such as reply-to address or sender settings, conversationally. Update these manually in the editor.
Preview and test
Desktop preview only
Campaign Agent currently supports previewing emails in desktop view only. To preview on mobile devices, send a test email to your inbox.
Launch and optimization
Post-launch changes
You can continue adjusting campaigns after launch, but changes don't take effect automatically. You must republish the campaign to apply your modifications.
AI optimization
Available for specific campaign types only
Dynamic wait-time optimization is available only for Abandoned Cart and Abandoned Browse campaigns. Campaign Agent automatically enables this feature during campaign brief generation for these use cases. You can't enable it for other campaign types.
Wait-time optimization only
After launch, Campaign Agent experiments with send timing to improve performance. It doesn't optimize subject lines, email copy, audience criteria, or offers. You're responsible for the overall campaign strategy — AI optimization improves timing execution within your designed campaign.
Learning requires customer data
The optimization model needs customer interaction data to learn and improve. Optimization effectiveness increases as more customers complete the campaign and provide behavioral signals.
