Step 2: Understand the Use Case Logic

The use case is designed to boost customer purchase decisions through timely SMS notifications when a product price drops. It's based on the assumption that a price reduction could be the final nudge needed for a customer already interested in purchasing a product.

Diving into the details, here's how the Use Case works:

  1. Trigger: The scenario is triggered by a 'view_item' event when a prospective customer views an item multiple times within a month. This implies interest in the product.
  2. Condition Nodes: The scenario checks for the correct customer consent and proper customer property. In addition, it verifies if there has been a more than 10% discount on the viewed product, indicating a significant price drop.

Before you can run this use case, you need to make sure certain items/assets are correctly configured:

  1. Correct Consent: Check the condition nodes if the appropriate consent (SMS consent) is selected.
  2. Proper Customer Property: Also, verify if the right customer property (phone) is chosen in the condition nodes.
  3. Catalog Name: Adjust the catalog name in the second flow in the nodes and similarly in the SMS body.

The items that can be adjusted to change the Use Case logic include the percentage discount in the 'add event' node, which by default targets products discounted by more than 10%.

To test the scenario, import a 'view_item' event with attributes such as email, product_id, price, and timestamp. Upon successful testing, hit the 'Start' button to run the scenario.

Remember to evaluate the performance of this use case by heading to Evaluate > SMS - Revenue - Campaign Evaluation. Evaluate the campaign in terms of whether it's promoting customer conversions due to the timely price-drop alerts provided through SMS.
