Why do search terms with special characters return 0 results?
If your search query contains a non-alphanumeric character, such as symbols like “%”, then that character will be treated as a blank space. For example, "2%" becomes "2".
Non-standard alphabetical characters, such as “é”, will be treated as their standard counterpart. For example, "résumé" becomes "resume".
Special characters like the colon (:
) should not be present in the search query, as they can interfere with the syntax of our system's parser and return 0 results.
These apply to Search, Synonyms, and Autosuggest.
