3. Run A/B test or save draft

After you configure the A/B test, you can:

Run the test right away

If you are ready to run the test, click the Save & start test button. Once a test is running, you can only edit the success metric and winner to end the test.

From this point, the test takes care of itself. You don't need to do anything to it as long as you're happy with how it's running. After opening the test, you can see how long the test has been running under the Test period.

When you start the test, we assign the site's traffic to your test experiences.

Best practice
To ensure clear and accurate test results, we suggest running one test at a time, particularly when testing across different site contexts like Account, Sitegroup, and Site levels. This approach helps prevent conflicting test experiences and overlapping results.

However, running multiple tests within the same site context is acceptable. For example, you can run a test on category A on site 1 and a separate test on category B on site 2 simultaneously.

Save test draft

Alternatively, click Save to save the test as a draft. You can always go back to edit or run the draft test. Note that draft tests are always inactive.

Edit a draft test

To modify a draft test:

  1. Go to the test using the A/B test page. Click Edit.

  2. Make your changes. Click Save to save the changes.

Run a draft test

  1. Go to the A/B tests page and find the draft test you want to run.
  2. After clicking the dropdown next to the Edit button, click the Start test option.
