What is Add to Recall operation for widgets
Add to Recall operation for widgets allows you to change the recall set of Recommendations and Pathways widgets. It enables you to add a product to the widget recall set and let the algorithm take care of the product’s placement. You may also choose a custom ranking for the product.
Why use Add to Recall operation for widgets
- More product visibility: Add to Recall for Recommendations enables you to get more visibility for promotional products or newly launched products by adding them to the recall set of multiple widgets.
- Clearing inventory: This operation can also be used to change the recall set to clear the inventory of certain products by globally boosting them in widgets. The use cases may vary as per your needs.
How this operation works
When you enable Add to Recall for a product in the widget recall set, the product gets added to the recall set of all related widgets.
Let’s consider enabling Add to Recall for a Frequently Bought Together widget. Note that Add to Recall is available for the Frequently Bought Together widget at the Widget Global Level only. When you enable Add to Recall for a product in a Frequently Bought Together widget, the product gets added to the recall of all Frequently Bought Together widgets at a Global level.
Suppose you’d like to add a specific brand’s product with an associated PID to the recall set of the Frequently Bought Together widget at a Global level. You can do so by enabling the Add to Recall toggle for the brand’s product from the visual editor. Turning on Add to Recall will make the associated product a part of the recall set, and our default algorithm will determine its placement.
To force add and boost the associated product to the top of the Frequently Bought Together widget recall set, use Boost to top + Add to Recall operations. This makes the specific brand’s product appear at the top of all Frequently Bought Together widgets.
