1. Start an A/B test

You can start an A/B test using any of the following three methods:

1. Method 1 - Use A/B testing page
2. Method 2 - Use an existing rule
3. Method 3 - Use rules page

Method 1 - Use A/B testing page

Go to the A/B tests page. Click the + New test button in the upper right corner.

Method 2 - Use an existing rule

Rule types: Search or category ranking rules, Recall studio, Ranking studio, Redirects, Personalization rules

In this example, we're considering a search ranking rule. However, you can use this method for other mentioned rule types as well.

1. Click and open the existing rule you would like to test. Make the changes to the rule that you want to test as a new variant.

2. Now, click on the Save new test variant button.

   

3. Click the Set up new test button. In this example, the variants table has two variants listed. Variant 2 is being tested against the default variant.

   

Method 3 - Use rules pages

Rule types: Search or category ranking rules, Recall studio, Ranking studio, Redirects, Personalization rules

In this example, we're considering a recall algorithm rule. However, you can use this method wherever the “Variants” column is visible.

1. Start a test from the Recall Studio page. Click the variants icon under the “Variants” column for the rule you want to test.

   

2. When the Rule variants modal opens, select the variants you want to test. Click the Set up new test button.
