Event Pixels
What are Event Pixels
Event Pixels are implemented to capture user’s interaction tracking as events. These events are triggered by specific actions taken by a user on your website/app. The Discovery platform is interested only in selected specific actions.
The data gathered by these pixels helps improve Bloomreach Discovery's search relevance, recommendations engine, and overall user experience by learning more about customer preferences and onsite behavior.
How to Implement Event Pixels
Since events occur on pages, Page View Pixels are fired before and/or after them. Hence, Event Pixels are dependent on Page View Pixels and should be implemented after setting up the Page View Pixels first.
Event Pixels are implemented on specific elements of the site. Copy and Paste the tracking snippets mentioned on the following pages to the specified locations and configure the parameters:
- Add-to-Cart (ATC) Event Pixel: Triggered when a user adds a product to their shopping cart
- Search Event Pixel: Triggered when a user makes a search
- Suggest Event Pixel: Triggered when a user clicks on a search suggestion or autocomplete entry
- Quick View Event Pixel: Triggered every time a user opens a Quick View to display more details about a product
