Migrate to Loomi for Shopify

Loomi for Shopify introduces a unified Shopify app setup for Bloomreach-powered search and personalization, managed through Data hub.

Loomi for Shopify is Bloomreach's official Shopify integration — a unified alternative to the legacy Shopify integration for Marketing and the custom and partner integrations used with Search. Migrating from legacy integrations changes how your integration is configured, how web tracking works, and how catalog data is structured.

📘

Note

Migration isn't mandatory. There's currently no deprecation planned for legacy integrations, so you can keep using Marketing Shopify integration or your Search integration.

If you're setting up Loomi for Shopify for the first time rather than migrating from a legacy integration, see Integrate Loomi AI for Shopify and Set up web tracking for Shopify instead.

Who benefits from migration

Migration to Loomi for Shopify is suitable if any of these apply to you:

  • You run a custom or partner integration and want to stop patching a feed or a tracking layer each time Shopify changes.
  • Your current setup isn’t sufficient for your business needs.
  • You're moving to Shopify Markets and legacy setups don't support Markets.
  • You need to reshape catalog data and don’t want to build and host your own feed.

What changes from the legacy setup

Loomi for Shopify differs from the legacy integration in a few key ways:

Single integration for multiple products

Loomi for Shopify is also a single integration that can power multiple products. If you later add another product — for example, moving from Search only to Search and Marketing — you extend the existing integration instead of setting up a separate one.

📘

Note

Migrating to Loomi for Shopify creates new item collections (catalogs). Include time in your migration plan to remap campaigns, recommendations, and templates to the new collections.

If you have any questions about scope or timing, contact your Customer Success Manager.

Data hub integration

  • Setup is managed through Data hub, which also enables data transformation.
  • Web tracking uses the Web SDK with Data hub event streams. In the standard setup, the required event streams are created automatically during installation.

Shopify Markets support

  • Shopify Markets are fully supported.
  • One Shopify store maps to one integration. For stores using Shopify Markets, each active country-language configuration creates its own item collection and localized catalog context in Data hub.
