Which pricing model am I on?
Bloomreach Engagement supports different pricing models. Your model determines which metrics are tracked, how usage is measured, and which dashboard you see in the platform.
There are 2 ways to identify your pricing model.
Option 1: Check your usage dashboard
Go to Overview > Bloomreach usage in your Engagement project. The dashboard you see tells you which pricing model you're on.
Profile-based pricing (current)
If your dashboard shows a Contract period header with Billable profiles and Monthly unique visitors as progress bars, you're on the current profile-based pricing model.
Your billing is based on 2 primary metrics:
- Billable profiles: Customer profiles with at least one identifier (email, phone, or hard ID).
- Monthly unique visitors (MUV): Distinct visitors to your site or app each month.
All other usage allowances (events, messages, API calls, storage) are derived from your contracted billable profiles] and specified in your contract.

Profile-based pricing (current): The dashboard shows Billable profiles and Monthly unique visitors as progress bars under the Billing metrics header.
For full documentation, see the Usage dashboard.
For guidance on keeping your profile usage efficient, see Efficient profile-based Engagement usage.
Profile-based pricing (before May 2026)
If your dashboard shows Unique visitors, Stored profiles, and Profile updates, you're on the version of profile-based pricing prior to May 2026.
Your billing is still based on billable profiles and MUV, but the dashboard layout and tabs differ from the current version.

Profile-based pricing (before May 2026): The dashboard shows Unique visitors, Stored profiles, and Profile updates.
For full documentation, see the Profile-based usage dashboard.
Event-based pricing
If your dashboard shows Monthly processed events, 12-month cumulative events, and Data storage, you're on event-based pricing.
Your billing is based on 2 metrics:
- Monthly processed events (MPE): Total events processed in a calendar month.
- Maximum event storage (MES): Maximum number of events stored at any point in time.

Event-based pricing: The dashboard shows Monthly processed events, 12-month cumulative events, and Data storage.
For full documentation, see the Event usage dashboard.
For guidance on keeping your event usage efficient, see Efficient event-based Engagement usage.
Mobile messaging committed spend
Some contracts include a mobile messaging committed spend component. If your dashboard includes an SMS committed spend metric alongside your standard pricing metrics, your contract includes a mobile messaging budget. This tracks your SMS/MMS/RCS spending against a committed budget defined in your contract.

Mobile messaging committed spend appears in the dashboard when your contract includes a mobile messaging budget.
If you think your contract includes mobile messaging committed spend but don't see it in your dashboard, contact your Account Manager.
Option 2: Check your contract or sales order
Your sales order explicitly states which pricing model applies. Look for these terms:
| You see in your contract | Your pricing model |
|---|---|
| Billable profiles, monthly unique visitors, usage allowances | Profile-based pricing |
| Monthly processed events (MPE), maximum event storage (MES), event limits | Event-based pricing |
| SMS/MMS committed spend, messaging budget | Mobile messaging committed spend (add-on) |
ImportantYour contract takes precedence. If there's a discrepancy between the usage dashboard and your contract, contact your Account Manager.
