Apple announced at their 2020 WWDC several new privacy updates. In this article, we will guide you through the new requirements, in connection with the data collected by Bloomreach Engagement.
# Application Tracking
In September 2020 it was announced that Apple will start requiring iOS applications to provide information about some of their data collection practices.
After the final release of iOS 14, iPadOS 14, and tvOS 14, under the AppTracking Transparency framework, it will not be possible to track the users' behavior unless they consent to the tracking. If a third-party code is used, such as advertising or analytics SDKs employed by Bloomreach Engagement, it will be necessary to describe what data is collected, how it is used, and whether it is used to track users' behavior.
Therefore, Apple is requiring a form to be completed when uploading to the App Store. This information is then shown to a user in the App Store before they download the app.
To fill in this form you may require further information about your tracking. In general, Bloomreach Engagement may collect and process the following data for tracking purposes on iOS devices (using Bloomreach Engagement iOS SD):
Device details such as device type, model, os, device tracking identifier (cookie), IP, longitude, or latitude.
User details including name, company name, email, phone number, position, or country.
In-app interactions and engagement such as views, clicks, or orders.
Each Bloomreach Engagement project is different and collects different data, which is managed by the client itself. Therefore, the following list of the data Bloomreach Engagement collects and processes does not apply entirely to every project.
