Manage Clarity access

This guide helps you assign the necessary roles for your team members to access Clarity.

For information on how access management and the roles hierarchy work, see the Bloomreach access management documentation.

Frequently asked questions

Why do some users need the Personal Data Viewer role?

The Personal Data Viewer role grants access to personally identifiable information (PII). In Clarity, this role is necessary for power users who need to filter Clarity transcripts by specific customer properties. Without this role, advanced filtering based on customer identity isn't available.

Can I grant a user the ability to start or stop weblayers without letting them edit?

No. Bloomreach uses a strict permission hierarchy where higher-level roles inherit all permissions from lower-level ones.

Starting or stopping a weblayer requires the Weblayers Publisher role. Since the Publisher role sits above the Editor role in the hierarchy, any user who can start or stop a weblayer can also edit it.
