Access Channels

Channel Manager

The Experience Manager overview displays all the available Channels for the CMS user. This doesn't necessarily include all the available channels, since some channels might be filtered out for the current CMS user due to (lack of) privileges or other criteria. The actual channel filtering can be enhanced by adding custom channels filters, see Channel Filtering

Visibility Experience Manager

The Experience Manager is only visible for CMS users who have the feature userrole

xm.channel.user

The above userrole is required to have the Experience Manager visible, but does not automatically imply the CMS user can see any channels, see below

Channel Filtering

By default, there are always two built-in channel filters active

  1. ContentReadChannelFilter : only channels for which the CMS user can read the root content node (eg /content/documents/myproject)  are shown
  2. PrivilegeBasedChannelFilter : only channels for which the CMS user has privilege hippo:channel-viewer on the  channel configuration (eg /hst:myproject/hst:configuration/myproject)  are shown
