Tracking security with JWT authentication

Protect your Event stream tracking data with new security controls that prevent identity forgery and data pollution. Signed-only permissions let you require JWT authentication for sensitive customer IDs, events, and properties, with SDK support across web and mobile platforms.

Secure your event streams with signed-only permissions and JWT authentication:

• Signed-only permissions for Event streams: Configure customer IDs, event types, and customer properties to require valid JWT authentication. Prevents malicious clients from forging identities or sending sensitive data without proper authentication.
• JWT signing keys: Create and rotate workspace-level JWT signing keys and JWT tokens (HMAC-SHA256/384/512) in Data hub. Changes propagate within a few seconds.
• Web SDK JWT authentication: Configure JWT tokens during SDK initialization, register token refresh callbacks, and handle authentication errors.
• Mobile SDK support for Data hub event streams: Route tracking through Data hub event streams instead of directly to Engagement projects, with optional JWT authentication for signed-only permissions.
  • Android SDK: Use StreamConfig for event stream routing with JWT token management and SdkAuthCallback for token refresh.
  • iOS SDK: Use StreamSettings for event stream routing with secure Keychain storage and proactive token refresh.

These security controls help you separate trusted server-side tracking from public client-side sources while preventing identity forgery and data pollution.

Automatic schema creation for General catalog imports with Data hub

Bloomreach builds your schema as you import data, removing the need for manual setup. When you import data into a General catalog with a Data hub integration, the system automatically adds any missing schema attributes based on the columns in your imported file. This applies to both first-time imports and import configuration updates that introduce new columns.

• Additive behavior: The import preserves the existing schema attributes and doesn't remove, rename, or overwrite them.
• String fields by default: New attributes are created as string fields.
• Adjustable schema: Update attributes later in the catalog schema as needed.
