What’s new?

Loomi Search+ marks our evolution from a semantic-based search system to a hybrid model with seamless integration of Vector Search technology.

  1. Next Gen Search that goes beyond Keywords
    Keyword Search is excellent for finding specific products, but it can struggle with complex and more nuanced queries like “running shoes good for knees”.

    Loomi Search+ addresses this limitation by going beyond keywords. It leverages vectors (mathematical representations) to decode the core intent behind every search and identifies products with shared characteristics. The result is a wider and more relevant recall that makes shopping an intuitive experience for your customers.

    Vector Search uses machine learning to analyze your catalog data and map product relationships as vectors (blue bubbles). For the query “Jacket”, Vector Search suggests related products like Coat, Blazer, and Down Jacket.

  2. Coverage for all query types
    Loomi Search+ leverages Large Language Models (LLMs) to display relevant result sets for all query types (head and tail queries). It also intelligently handles natural language queries with comprehensive semantic coverage.

  3. Vector temperature controls
    Loomi Search+ offers granular temperature control settings over the precision of its Vector Search capabilities. This allows you to specify whether to prioritize exact matches for head queries or a broader range of relevant options for tail queries.

  • Wider recall, more opportunities: Loomi Search+ combines Keyword and Vector Search. You get to showcase exact product matches for specific searches while surfacing related products based on underlying search intent. This opens doors to showcasing a wider set of relevant products (up to 29% more related products shown), potentially boosting conversion rates and RPV.

  • Significant reduction of null search results: Loomi Search+, powered by Vector Search, can understand the context behind each search, even for poorly phrased queries or those with typos. This significantly reduces the chances of null search results, ensuring customers always find relevant products, regardless of how they phrase their search.

Feature impact

  • With Loomi Search+, we are providing a powerful add-on of Vector Search to supercharge our existing semantic Keyword Search engine. Loomi Search+ enhances and complements the existing search capabilities. Existing search features are unchanged.

  • No additional integration efforts are required on the feed and pixel end.

Improvements


1. Query overrides support for Pathways

We are happy to share that Algorithm customizations at the query level are now supported for the Keyword-based Pathways widget.

What improved?

  • The Query Overrides that you configure for specific queries will now optimize the Keyword Pathway recall. This ensures that the Pathway experience is consistent with your Search experience.

2. Query length limit on Search API requests

Search queries in the API requests should now be less than 300 characters (or 30 words) in length.

Why this change?

  • To prevent system overload and load spikes, we have implemented this limit on the length of the query string sent in the Product & Category Search API requests.
  • There is no such restriction on search requests made from the Bloomreach dashboard.
  • This would ensure more robustness and stability of our API infrastructure.

3. Additional parameters support to track Email Recommendations campaigns

Email Recommendations Proxy APIs now allow you to track email campaigns by passing additional parameters.

What improved?

To track email campaigns via your external email service provider, you can pass up to 10 additional parameters in a specific format.

4. Multi-site analytics for Top keywords report

Under Insights, the Top Keywords report in Site search analytics is now site-aware.

What improved?

  • The Top keywords report will now show the metrics as per the account, site group, and site context.
  • The report is computed based on the scope selected in the context selector located in the upper right corner.
  • Please note that the 'Download' and 'Email' options for the Top keywords report will be temporarily unavailable due to some ongoing enhancements.

🐛 Bug fixes


  • Product grid settings
    After creating a new product grid settings rule, product cards did not populate data for Page-level metrics. This issue has been resolved.
  • Insights
    Accessing Opportunities and Playbooks reports under the Insights module resulted in an error. This issue has been resolved.
  • Heatmap
    There were functional issues with the Heatmap extension that have been resolved, and it now works as expected.

Known Issues


  • Ranking diagnostics
    You may notice a few products with a Relevance score of “0.” This issue affects only a subset of queries/products with matches on variant data. We will fix this in an upcoming release.
