Release 1.318

TL;DR: This release renames Bloomreach Engagement to Marketing across the product UI. It also brings SDK upgrades and stability fixes to Android and Flutter, plus a fix that protects internal integration API keys.

Release date: 16.9. - 21.9.2026

Engagement is becoming Marketing

We're renaming Bloomreach Engagement to Marketing across the product UI over the coming days. This doesn't change the service, its functionality, or your agreement terms. It's the same product under its new name, so no action is required on your end.

Mobile SDK updates

Android SDK

Fewer app crashes and smoother App Inbox syncing with our latest Android SDK 5.3.1 release:

  • App Inbox images: Fixes App Inbox images not loading in the message detail for dependent Flutter apps.
  • App Inbox sync: Fixes App Inbox sync errors that followed an invalid sync token.
  • Push notification stability: Fixes app crashes on cold start when a push notification arrives while the app is in the background or terminated state.

Flutter SDK

Stronger tracking security and smoother in-app content with our latest Flutter SDK 3.0.0 release:

  • Data hub integration: Adds Stream (Data hub) integration and JWT authentication for Tracking API security.
  • iOS lifecycle support: Adopts the UIScene lifecycle on iOS for Universal Links and push notification handling, ensuring compatibility with iOS 26+ and iOS 27.
  • Native SDK upgrades: Updates the native Android SDK to version 5.3.1 and the native iOS SDK to version 4.3.0.
  • Minimum version updates: Raises the minimum Flutter version to 3.38.0, Dart SDK to 3.10.0, and the minimum supported iOS version to 15.0 for Xcode 27 compatibility.
  • Reliability fixes: Fixes flushData() to await native flush completion and propagate errors on both platforms, and improves In-App Content Block placeholder and carousel rendering with native views and optimized platform caches.
  • Documentation and tooling: Updates setup documentation for Android Auto Backup and SDK storage, and updates the Example App's Android build toolchain for Flutter 3.47.2 compatibility.

Bug fixes

  • Internal API keys created by integrations (such as Shopify, BigCommerce, and Omniconnect) are no longer listed in Project settings > Access management > API, so they can't be accidentally rotated or deleted.
