Personalization studio: Viability assessment for Behavioral Sequence model

Personalization studio is now generally available!

The 1:1 Personalization setup flow now includes a viability assessment that evaluates whether your catalog and traffic data meet the requirements for effective personalization with the Behavioral Sequence model.

When setting up the Behavioral Sequence model, a one-time viability check now runs automatically after the initial setup.

One-time viability check for effective personalization

What's new

  • Viability assessment before activation: When setting up the Behavioral Sequence model, a one-time viability check now runs automatically after the initial setup. This check evaluates your catalog and traffic data against recommended thresholds before you proceed with activation.
  • Clear viability outcomes: The assessment returns one of three outcomes: Viable for personalization, Not viable for behavioral personalization, or Assessment failed.
  • Viability criteria information: View catalog viability based on three priority areas: Catalog readiness (how well your product catalog supports the model), Scale and traffic (whether there is enough data to train the model), and Feedback quality (how often visitors take high-intent actions).
  • Guided activation flow: Based on the viability outcome, you can proceed with activation, improve your data quality and retry, switch to the Attribute affinity model, or choose not to use personalization if it isn't viable for your business.

Why is this valuable

The viability check helps you make informed decisions before activating personalization. Instead of discovering performance issues after activation, you can now assess whether your catalog and traffic data are ready for the Behavioral Sequence model upfront. This reduces the risk of unstable results and helps you choose the right personalization model for your catalog.

What to expect

Businesses with strong shopper engagement signals, including interaction volume, product discovery depth, and funnel health across views, add-to-carts, and conversions, will see the Behavioral Sequence model automatically enabled in Personalization studio as a default upgrade.

Eligibility is determined by the quality and richness of your product interaction data. If enabled for your account, no action is required. You can enable or disable personalization in Personalization studio at any time.
