TL;DR: Import an image or other media file straight into your Asset manager library from a public URL with the new import_media_file tool.

Import files into the Asset manager from a URL

• import_media_file adds an image or media file to a project's Asset manager 'Files' tab from a publicly accessible URL — an S3 link, a CDN URL, or a generated-image URL, for example. Local files can't be uploaded this way; the source has to already be reachable over HTTP or HTTPS.

• Returns the full file record, including the public CDN URL of the imported file, ready to drop into an email or a scenario.

• Marketing's per-type size limits apply: 2 MB for images, 20 MB for video, 5 MB for other files such as PDFs and documents. Resize a phone screenshot or camera photo before importing rather than retrying the same file.
